Terms of Use
Last updated: 5 August 2026
These terms govern the use of the StudyChessBoard platform. By registering or using the platform you accept them. If you do not accept them, please do not use the platform.
1. Who provides the service
DOO StudyChessBoard
Železnička 20, Novi Sad, Republic of Serbia
Company number (MB): 22012118
Tax number (PIB): 114360474
E-mail: support@wbchess.com
Phone: +381-60-400-13-64
Referred to below as "we" or "the platform".
2. What we provide
The platform gives access to chess training tools, including:
- a chess board for lessons, including shared coach-and-student sessions;
- courses, puzzles and training material;
- games against the engine;
- student group management, attendance records and progress statistics;
- clubs and tournaments;
- authoring and selling your own courses, for coaches and authors.
The feature set may change: we keep developing the platform, adding and occasionally removing capabilities. We give advance notice of changes that materially affect access you have paid for.
3. Your account
- Registration details must be accurate and your e-mail address must work.
- An account is personal. Do not share your password and do not use someone else's account. You are responsible for activity carried out under your account.
- If you notice that someone else is using your account, tell us immediately.
- An account for a child under 16 is created by a parent or other legal guardian, who accepts these terms on the child's behalf. In EU countries with a lower age limit, that country's limit applies.
4. Coaches, clubs and students
- A coach or club may create student records on the platform and run lessons with them. The coach is responsible for having the right to enter the student's data and for the content of their training notes.
- The relationship between coach and student is their own: schedules, lesson fees and teaching quality are outside our responsibility. We provide the tools.
- We can provide coaches and clubs with the instruments needed to meet data protection requirements, including a data processing agreement where necessary.
5. Payment, subscriptions and refunds
- Some features are free; others require a paid plan or a one-off course purchase. Current prices are shown on the pricing page and in the course shop.
- Payments are processed by our partner PayPro Global, acting as merchant of record. Their terms also apply to the transaction and your invoice comes from them.
- A subscription renews automatically until you cancel it. You can cancel in your account; access continues until the end of the paid period.
- Subscription plans include a free 30-day trial period. Checkout, card storage and billing take place on PayPro Global's side and are governed by their terms, which are shown to you at checkout. You can cancel the subscription from your account on the platform.
- Refunds are handled according to PayPro Global's policy. You may also send a refund request to us and we will help you file it.
- If you are a consumer in the European Union, you have a 14-day right of withdrawal. For digital content made available immediately, that right ends once you start using the content — you confirm this at checkout.
6. Rules of use
On the platform you may not:
- use chess engines or outside help in games and exercises meant to be played on your own;
- insult, threaten or behave aggressively towards other users in chat or during lessons;
- impersonate another person, coach or organisation;
- attempt to bypass access restrictions, break into the platform, disrupt its operation or automatically harvest its content;
- copy, resell or publish platform courses and materials without the rights holder's permission.
We work to keep the environment safe for children. Content and behaviour unsuitable for a child audience are not allowed.
7. Your content
- You keep the rights to the material you create — courses, puzzles, game annotations.
- By uploading material to the platform you grant us the right to store it, show it to the users you have given access to, and process it technically — translation, voice-over, format conversion — to the extent needed to operate the service.
- You are responsible for holding the rights to what you upload and for not infringing anyone else's copyright.
- If you sell your courses through the platform, separately agreed settlement terms apply.
8. Our rights in the platform
The software, design, interface texts, puzzle database and other platform material — other than user content — belong to DOO StudyChessBoard or are used by us on a lawful basis. A subscription does not transfer those rights to you.
9. Suspension and termination
- We may restrict or block access in case of a serious breach of these terms — for example engine assistance, aggression towards other users, or attempts to break in. Where possible we warn you first.
- You may stop using the platform at any time and request deletion of your account by writing to support@wbchess.com.
10. Availability and liability
- We aim for uninterrupted service but cannot guarantee that it will be free of downtime and errors. Where possible we schedule maintenance at quiet hours.
- We are not liable for failures caused by your equipment, your internet connection or the acts of third parties.
- Our liability is limited to the amount you paid us over the preceding 12 months, except in cases of intent, gross negligence, injury to life or health, and other cases where limitation of liability is not permitted by law.
- If you are a consumer, these limitations do not affect the rights granted to you by the mandatory law of your country of residence.
11. Personal data
How we handle personal data is described in our Privacy Policy, which forms an integral part of these terms.
12. Changes to these terms
We may change these terms. A new version is published on this page with a new date, and we announce significant changes in advance by e-mail or with a notice on the site. Continuing to use the platform after the changes take effect means you accept them.
13. Governing law and disputes
These terms are governed by the law of the Republic of Serbia. Disputes are heard by the court at the seat of DOO StudyChessBoard. If you are a consumer in the European Union, you keep the protection of the mandatory rules of your country of residence and the right to bring proceedings before the courts where you live.
